Annual Employment and Education Fair Established in Monzón

The second edition of the Education, Employment, Business, and Dual Vocational Training Fair (Salón 3E) has quickly become a cornerstone event in Monzón. Held this year at the San Mateo Association’s social venue in the Paules industrial estate—due to ongoing renovations at the La Azucarera exhibition centre—the fair attracted over 60 companies from eastern Huesca province and a large number of students from nine secondary and vocational training institutions in the area.

Ángel Mas, President of CEOS CEPYME Monzón and Cinca Medio, celebrated the strong reception for the initiative, spearheaded by his organisation in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Huesca and the Monzón City Council. He announced that the event will now be held annually following an agreement among the organisers. “Companies require skilled labour, and initiatives like this encourage young people to pursue training that meets business needs, ensuring a prosperous future within the region,” Mas said during the fair’s opening ceremony. He was joined by Monzón Mayor Isaac Claver, Chamber President Manuel Rodríguez Chesa, and the Head of Professional Training Services, Óscar Sánchez.

Supporting Local Talent Retention

Manuel Rodríguez Chesa emphasised the importance of collaboration in bringing the initiative to life. “This successful partnership between the City Council and local businesses ensures that the fair remains a key event on the vocational training calendar, providing attendees with the tools they need to develop skills and retain talent in our province,” he said.

Representing the Government of Aragón, Óscar Sánchez highlighted the fair’s role in promoting education and vocational training. “The Salón showcases the opportunities provided by Dual Vocational Training, which now has more students enrolled than university programmes, as we often point out,” Sánchez remarked.

A Platform for Employment and Business Growth

Monzón Mayor Isaac Claver described the fair as a “showcase of teamwork and a resounding success,” noting the participation of more than 60 companies that presented their products and job openings. “This event connects educational institutions, students preparing for the workforce, and individuals seeking employment. Monzón is the economic engine of the province, and this fair has become the region’s leading employment forum,” Claver said.

Conferences Addressing Vocational Training Challenges

The fair featured several talks, including a keynote address by Miguel Ángel Hernández from the Government of Aragón’s Professional Training Services, discussing the challenges facing modern vocational training. Another session by Sergio Ibáñez Laborda focused on adapting to an ever-changing world and fostering talent development.

With its success, the Education, Employment, Business, and Dual Vocational Training Fair is poised to remain a vital platform for fostering connections between students, employers, and training institutions, helping to drive the region’s growth and retain its talent.
